Cliff Patterson is a dancer, artist, & figure skating coach who has been in Boulder since 2007. He began coaching in 1998 & has worked with skaters of all levels. He's been on the since 1985. Cliff was born in St Petersburg, Florida. He holds the BFA in dance from CU Boulder and is an AmeriCorps alum. Before coming to Boulder, Cliff coached teams of developing youth skaters in Grand Junction, Missouri, Kansas, & Wyoming. He specializes in freestyle technique, off-ice training/ conditioning, and choreography/ style.
Cliff founded C3 to create opportunity for year round figure skating in Boulder and as a vehicle for his creative work. He coaches group, private, & semi-private lessons. Cliff began coaches training in 1997 and was mentored by International judges & coaches. He has attended numerous coaching & educators conferences and seminars - through Professional Skaters' Association, U.S. Figure Skating, Ice Skating Institute, International Skating Union, and others.
Cliff started singles skating at age 5 and devoted his childhood to training. He's worked under the European Champion Herbert Weisinger, Gold Ice Dancer Katrina Fortney, & Pairs Champion Bruce Forcia. Cliff competed in both USFSA & ISIA local, state, & other competitions for 8 years and won many events including the ISIA Nationals in 1993.
Cliff has worked as a figure skating and dance coach sine 1998. His choreographic work has been seen in 14 states and includes working with all level skaters. He's directed performances and won choreographic awards. Cliff can be reached directly at 720.465.0679.
